Fresh Cordon Rouge by Patrick Jouin

Posted: 25 Mar 2012 09:30 PM PDT

The largest and famous Champagne producers, GH MUMM renewed its association with Patrick Jouin to create an original and sophisticated range of practical accessories for its celebrated Champagne- Cordon Rouge.

The results are a Cordon Rouge bag, a Champagne Sabre and a Champagne bucket.

Equipped with a handle, the Cordon Rouge Bag or an Isothermal case, conceived with a lightweight and resistant material, becomes essential to enjoy your own Champagne moment in all circumstances. Sophisticated materials and finishes have been chosen to make the Cordon Rouge Bag the more elegant. Thanks to its isotherm function, the Cordon Rouge Bag keeps your bottle at the ideal tasting temperature for at least two hours and preserves the freshness and intensity of your Champagne.

The Champagne Sabre,a unique object, that marries the elegance of a red leather guard, marked with the name of the Champagne firm to the strength of a steel blade with a squared end. Tinged with white, the steel part is fine and sparkling. It subtly reveals the signature of its creator.

"Georges" Champagne bucket, in honour of Georges Hermann Mumm, a champagne bucket with a fluid and airy design, offered in a limited edition in an exclusive casket. Between ultramodern design and functional intelligence, it expresses the prestige of the House of G.H.MUMM, while exalting its elegant personality.

Clouds Installation by Berndnaut Smilde

Posted: 23 Mar 2012 08:51 AM PDT

Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde has literally taking the art world by storm for his latest creation- clouds installation. Berndnaut Smilde creates clouds using uses a smoke machine, combined with moisture and dramatic lighting to create an indoor cloud effect.

Smilde, who lived in Amsterdam, said he wanted to make the image of a typical Dutch rain cloud, inside of a space. 'I imagined walking into a classical museum hall with just empty walls,' he said. 'There was nothing to see except for a rain cloud hanging around in the room.

'I wanted to make a very clear image, an almost cliche and cartoon-like visualization of having bad luck. "Indeed there's nothing here and bullocks, it's starting to rain!"'

But the few people who have seen the clouds in person would consider themselves very lucky. Each cloud only exists for a moment before dissipating. The photograph, Smilde says, is a 'document', the only proof of its existence if a viewer misses it.

Lily Chair by David Ross Design

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 09:08 AM PDT

David Ross of David Ross Design has sent us images of his latest project- The Lily Chair, a flexible plywood chair-table set.

Cramped dining tables and lonely TV dinners are a thing of the past with the latest innovation from David Ross Design. A metamorphic piece of furniture the Lily Chairs can provide varied amounts of seating and also encourage informal communal dining.

When stacked the Lily Chairs function as a single chair, they can then transform to become two separate chairs. By further division these become two Japanese style dining table/chair sets. This versatile ply-formed furniture is the latest creation of Glasgow-based designer David Ross.
