Kimmidoll- Japanese Matryoshka Posted: 29 May 2011 05:04 AM PDT If you like Russian Matryoshka, then you will love the Kimmidoll. Kimmidoll, short for 'Kimono Doll', was born from the Japanese tradition of Kokeshi doll. Kokeshi dolls have been given away as tokens of love and friendship. for over two centuries. It is this philosophy of bestowing luck and good fortune upon friends and family that is behind the creation of the Kimmidoll brand. Kimmidolls are contemporary collectable dolls combining a fusion of traditional and modern creative sensibility. Created by Australia's 'the aird group', the Kimmidoll family have close to 100 characters, each lovingly designed and representing one of "Life's True Values". |
