Hedonistic Rooftop Penthouses by JDS / Julien De Smedt Architects Posted: 01 Aug 2012 08:33 AM PDT Situated in Elmegade district, one of the most densely populated areas of inner Nørrebro, Copenhagen, the plot of land has closed to zero courtyard. When asked to design three penthouses on top of the land, JDS Architects cleverly turn the newly design rooftop to create the 'missing garden' for its owners. The hedonistic rooftop is reflected in a playground with shock-absorbing surface and a playful suspension bridge, a green hill with varying accommodation backed by real grass and durant vegetation, a viewing platform, an outdoor kitchen and barbecue, and a more quiet wooden deck. While the roof usually defines a final measure of any construction, JDS creation has sparked a new solution for all city dwellers where green space is scarcity and hard to come by. + JDS Architects |
